How can we help?
Answers for the things you can do in UTS.
Use these guides for drivers, memberships, claims, documents, billing, account security, and more. If you still need assistance, contact Support directly from your member account.
Your account & drivers
How do I add a driver?
Open Drivers from the member menu and choose the option to add a driver. Enter the driver's identifying and license information, then save the profile. Every driver has a separate membership, benefit balance, and claim history.
MANAGE DRIVERSHow do I update a driver's license?
Open the driver's profile or your Profile area and upload a new front and back image of the driver's license. You can replace license documents when they change or before they expire. Prior document versions remain available for account history.
OPEN PROFILEWhat if a driver's license is expiring?
UTS tracks the license expiration date and may display an expiring or expired warning. Upload the renewed license as soon as it is available so the driver's profile remains current.
REVIEW DOCUMENTSCoverage, benefits & enrollment
When does a new membership become effective?
New memberships currently have a 24-hour waiting period. A citation must be issued after the applicable driver's membership has completed that waiting period and become effective. Membership is not retroactive.
VIEW MEMBERSHIPSWhere can I see my available benefit?
Your dashboard and Memberships area show the current available benefit for your active driver memberships. Each driver's benefit is separate and cannot be pooled with another driver.
VIEW BENEFITSWhat happens if I use all of my available benefit?
Additional reimbursement cannot be paid beyond the benefit currently available for that driver and subscription. New benefit becomes available according to the rules and successful billing cycle of the applicable membership.
VIEW MEMBERSHIPCan I cancel my membership?
You may request cancellation of a membership. When cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current paid billing period, coverage may remain active through that period. Citations issued after coverage ends are not eligible.
MANAGE MEMBERSHIPWhat happens to an eligible claim after cancellation?
A valid claim for a citation issued while the membership was active may continue to be processed after cancellation if the citation and claim otherwise meet that membership's rules and claim submission window.
VIEW CLAIMSWhat happens if I enroll again later?
Re-enrollment creates a new membership and a new benefit lifecycle. Unused benefit from an ended membership does not transfer or return, but the prior membership, billing, and claim history remain available for recordkeeping.
VIEW MEMBERSHIPSSubmitting & managing a claim
How do I start a new claim?
Open Claims and select New Claim. Choose the covered driver, enter the citation information, and save the claim. A new claim begins as a draft until the required citation documents are uploaded and you submit it for administrator review.
OPEN CLAIMSHow long do I have to report a citation?
An eligible citation must currently be reported within 30 days of the citation date. The citation must also have been issued after that driver's membership became effective.
VIEW CLAIMSWhat documents are required?
A claim requires clear images or files showing the front and back of the citation. UTS may request additional court, payment, amended-charge, dismissal, or final-disposition documents when needed to review the claim.
OPEN CLAIMSCan I take pictures with my phone?
Yes. On supported mobile devices, use Take Photo to photograph the citation or license directly with your phone camera. You can also use Choose File to upload an existing PDF, JPEG, or PNG file.
OPEN CLAIMSHow is my requested reimbursement calculated?
The initial requested reimbursement defaults to the maximum currently eligible amount: the lesser of the eligible citation amount or the exact available benefit for that driver and subscription. You may manually request a lower amount.
VIEW CLAIMSCan I delete a claim draft?
Yes. A claim that is still in Draft status can be deleted. Once a claim has been submitted for review, it becomes part of the claim record and cannot be deleted through the normal draft controls.
VIEW CLAIMSUnderstanding claim statuses
DRAFT
The claim has been started but has not yet been submitted for administrator review. Draft claims do not reserve benefit. Upload the required citation documents and submit the claim when ready.
VIEW CLAIMSSUBMITTED
The claim has been sent to Umbrella Ticket Solutions for review. UTS will verify the membership, citation information, documents, eligibility, and available benefit.
VIEW CLAIMSMORE INFO REQUIRED
An administrator needs additional information or documentation before the claim can continue. Open the claim to review the request and provide the requested response or documents. Your Claims menu may also display a red action-required count.
CHECK CLAIMSAPPROVED
The claim has been approved for eligible reimbursement. Payment processing or final reimbursement recording may still need to be completed before the claim becomes Paid.
VIEW CLAIMDENIED
The claim was determined not to meet the applicable eligibility or documentation requirements. Any claim benefit reservation associated with a denied claim is released according to the claim workflow.
VIEW CLAIMPAID
The approved reimbursement has been recorded as paid. The reimbursement is reflected in the applicable driver's benefit ledger and claim history.
VIEW CLAIMSCourt & final-disposition documents
Can I contest or try to reduce the ticket first?
Yes. If practical, you may contest the citation or seek a reduction before paying it. Starting a UTS claim does not require you to give up an effort to reduce or dismiss the citation.
VIEW CLAIMSWhat should I do while the court matter is pending?
Keep the claim open and upload court notices, amended charges, dismissal paperwork, or other final-disposition documents as they become available. UTS may request additional information before reimbursement is processed.
OPEN CLAIMSDoes UTS represent me in court?
No. Umbrella Ticket Solutions is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or legal representation. You remain responsible for all court appearances, response deadlines, payment deadlines, and other legal obligations associated with the citation.
VIEW FAQPayments & billing history
Where can I see membership payments?
Open Billing to review payment history associated with your drivers and memberships. Payment records may show the plan, billing cadence, payment amount, status, and transaction reference.
VIEW BILLINGWhat happens if a membership payment fails?
A failed payment may affect membership status, benefit accrual, and eligibility for new citations. Review the membership and billing areas for the current status and update payment information when requested.
VIEW BILLINGAre different drivers' payments or benefits combined?
No. Driver memberships remain separate. Billing history, benefit balances, and claims are associated with the exact driver and applicable subscription rather than being pooled across the account.
VIEW BILLINGProfile, MFA & recovery
Why is multi-factor authentication required?
UTS requires MFA to add another layer of protection to member accounts and sensitive driver, claim, and billing information. Complete authenticator-app enrollment as directed during account setup.
SECURITY SETTINGSWhat are recovery codes?
Recovery codes provide a backup method for account access if your normal authenticator is unavailable. Keep them in a secure place and do not share them with anyone.
SECURITY SETTINGSWhere do I update my account information?
Use Profile for your member and driver information and Security for account-security settings. Keep your email, phone, and driver information current so UTS can communicate with you when needed.
OPEN PROFILECommercial & CDL driving
Do standard memberships cover commercial or CDL driving?
No. Standard UTS memberships are intended for personal, non-commercial driving. Citations received while operating a commercial motor vehicle, or citations arising from CDL or commercial driving, are not covered unless a separate UTS commercial membership expressly states otherwise.
