Frequently AskedQuestions

Straightforward answers about membership, coverage, claims and reimbursement.

GENERAL

General questions

What if I never get a ticket?

Umbrella Ticket Solutions is designed to provide protection when an eligible traffic citation happens unexpectedly. If you never need to file a claim, your membership remains available for future eligible citations while your coverage is active. Any discounts or benefits offered by your specific membership plan will be shown in your account and current plan terms.

Why should I have ticket protection?

Traffic citations can create an unexpected expense. Umbrella Ticket Solutions lets members pay a predictable membership cost in exchange for access to reimbursement benefits for eligible citations, subject to the terms, limits and available benefit of the selected membership plan.

What happens if I use all of my available benefit?

Once your currently available benefit has been used, additional claims cannot be reimbursed until additional benefit becomes available under your membership. Your account always shows your current available benefit. Changing or upgrading a membership does not retroactively increase coverage for a citation that was not eligible under the membership in effect when it occurred.

What violations are covered?

Covered violations depend on your membership level. Each membership option lists the violations included with that plan. A claim must meet the plan rules that were in effect for the covered driver when the citation was issued. Violations that are not included in that membership are not eligible for reimbursement.

Can I cancel at any time?

Yes. You may request cancellation of your membership at any time. Cancellation takes effect according to your current billing period. Once coverage ends, no new citations are covered. A valid claim for a citation issued while coverage was active may still be processed if it was reported within the applicable claim window.

What happens to unused benefit if I cancel?

Unused benefit does not carry over after a membership ends and is not transferred to a future membership. Your prior membership and claim history remain available for recordkeeping.

COVERAGE & MEMBERSHIP

Coverage & membership

Will you cover a ticket I already had before joining?

No. A citation must be issued after the covered driver's membership becomes effective. New memberships currently have a 24-hour waiting period. Citations issued before the coverage-effective date and time are not eligible.

When does my coverage become active?

Coverage becomes effective after the waiting period for your membership has been completed. The current waiting period is 24 hours from the applicable membership activation time. Your account displays the coverage status for each covered driver.

Does each driver have separate coverage?

Yes. Every driver has an individual membership, benefit balance and claim history. Benefits are not pooled between the primary member and additional drivers.

Do standard memberships cover CDL or commercial driving citations?

No. Standard individual memberships are intended for personal, non-commercial driving. Citations received while operating a commercial motor vehicle, or citations arising from CDL or commercial driving, are not covered unless a separate UTS commercial membership or plan expressly states otherwise.

How does ticket protection work?

If a covered driver receives an eligible citation, create a claim through the secure member portal and provide the requested citation information and documents. We verify the citation date, membership coverage, violation eligibility and available benefit. You can then follow the claim, respond to requests for information and view its status through your account.

Do you provide legal representation or legal advice?

No. Umbrella Ticket Solutions does not provide legal representation or legal advice. Members are responsible for deciding whether to pay, contest, seek reduction of, or otherwise respond to a citation and should consult a qualified attorney when legal advice is needed.

Will my membership automatically be canceled because I filed claims?

Filing a claim does not automatically cancel your membership. Claims remain subject to your membership terms, available benefit and eligibility requirements. Umbrella Ticket Solutions may communicate with you if account or membership changes are required.

CLAIMS

Claims & reimbursement

When should I report a citation?

Report an eligible citation within 30 days of the citation date. Reporting the citation starts the claim process; it does not necessarily mean the citation must already be paid or finally resolved.

What if I want to contest the ticket?

You may contest or seek a reduction of the citation before paying it. If the matter is still pending, keep your claim open and upload court notices, amended charges, dismissal documents or other final-disposition records as they become available. Umbrella Ticket Solutions may request additional documentation before reimbursement is processed.

How is my reimbursement amount determined?

The requested reimbursement initially defaults to the maximum amount currently eligible for that claim: the lesser of the citation amount and the covered driver's available benefit. You may request a lower amount. Final reimbursement remains subject to claim review and membership eligibility.

How many claims can I submit?

You may report multiple eligible citations, subject to the terms and available benefit of the membership that covered the driver when each citation occurred. Every claim is reviewed independently and draws only from that driver's applicable membership benefit.

Can I have more than one claim open at the same time?

Yes. Multiple claims may be open at the same time, provided each claim independently meets the applicable coverage and eligibility requirements and sufficient benefit is available.

What documents do I need?

A claim requires clear copies of the front and back of the citation. Additional court, payment or supporting documents may be requested depending on the claim. Members may upload existing files or use a supported mobile device camera to photograph documents directly.

What does More Info Required mean?

It means an administrator needs additional information or documentation before the claim can continue. Your account will display an action-required alert, and you may also receive an email notification. Open the claim to review and respond to the request.

How long does claim review take?

We work to review claims as promptly as possible. Processing time depends on the completeness of the submitted information, whether additional documents are required, and whether the citation is still being contested or resolved. You can monitor the current status of your claim at any time through the member portal.

How will I know when my claim is approved or paid?

Claim status is available in your member account throughout the process. Umbrella Ticket Solutions also sends notifications for important claim events. Once an approved reimbursement is processed, the claim status and payment information are recorded in your account.
